A little Vintage if you will...

I have always had a love for super glamorous Vintage pieces whether it be make-up cases, rings, mink fur coats and crystal shoes - I LOVE Vintage! Due to my mothers recent obsessions (which always has been there but she is now selling out faster than she can clean and put together) I have got it!

Let me tell ya I have quite the collection of vintage jewelry now and so I travel all over to different antique malls and shops to find awesome one-of-a-kind affordable pieces for my friends and family! On my etsy site you will be finding more vintage earrings and accessories. All of my vintage items in my shop no matter what ALWAYS ship FREE to my followers in the United States :) Yep - FREE people!!! Still all my items are gift wrapped with an added bonus and tracking confirmation at no additional fee! Pretty sweet right?!

Also if you are not into the vintage jewelry I also will take the backing and clip it into a sturdy felt attachment to convert the earrings into shoe clips AND I can even create a interchangeable hair accessory as well. I love when things can be used over and over again. Just convo me on emmaflhair.etsy.com and I can get ya the hook up - literally ;)

So onto the new collections for you all to enjoy - super cute! Lemme know what you think?! Are you feeling the Vintage love?

How-To-Wear : Plain Striped Tees

I LOVE striped tee-shirt and definitely they are a staple in any wardrobe! Nautical-inspired is always charming - it is simple but super chic!

Here's is how to make this look work for you...

1. Find Your Best Fit...
Look for a t-shirt that is body forming, not too tight, especially if you are a bit busty - you will want it to end at your hip bone.

2. Type of Fabric...
I think cotton or a cotton knit blend is best that feels a little more thick and sturdy than a tee. It will look a lot more crisp but enough movement to flatter your shape.

3. Wear it Pair it...
Casual jeans, pants and skirts work well. Please refrain from "sailor style" pants. You can def mix it up with a tailored trouser and a fun statement necklace for a more dressy approach. Try not to do to many nautical looks at once to make sure you don't look costume-y.

Here are some picture examples:

Eva Mendes departs Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) wearing a striped shirt.

Love it? Hate it? Lemme know! Do you own stripes? How do you wear them?

How-To-Wear ColorBlock

           C  O   R         B  L  K

So one of the larger trends this spring and summer is color blocking. This is any solid block patterned item that has more than one color. I love this because it is especially tricky but once you mater this look you'll be stylin' this season for sure!! Color blocking is showing up in dresses, tunics, jackets, skirts, purses, jewelry and of course shoes. I have made a collection for inspiration for all of my lovelies on here for you to get ideas to mastering this trend. The pieces are small and pretty inexpensive so if you are not so trendy this is a great way to incorporate the design to your wardrobe without breaking the bank! And remember this look can be as simple as stripes to full force color blocked dresses and heels, so play around and see which look works best for you.

Many of these pieces can be found at Forever21 or TopShop for the bargainistas out there. Here are some simple How-Tos to rock this trend...

1. Start with one large piece (tunic, shirt, dress, etc) and keep the rest simple. Because this is so bright and there will be a lot going on so when accessorizing your outfit go with muted neutrals or simple jewelry. Don't try to accessorize in the same colors as your color block ensemble (you'll end up looking like a go-go dancer or a lady on the catwalk)! Here is a great example of Kate in the color block trend. Yes, stripes are color blocks :)

2. If you are looking to incorporate just a small piece it is okay to incorporate the color of the piece or even another shade from the same color.  For Example, from Lookbook, this fashionista has color block shoes and pairing them with the bright blue top is perfect. She takes it an extra step with the pant color which is gorgeous but keeps the rest in neutral. Little more indie for my taste but still a great inspiration platform for you to use.

Zara Pants, H&M Blue Top

3. Pair multiple bold colors such as red and blue with basic black. Black offers a little stability with the bold and bright so your outfit doesn't look too clown-y. This blogger here shows a great balance with the bright and bold paired among basic black. LOVE her skirt!! This is a fun transition from winter to spring for all of us who have a colder climate!

Love the color block trend? What ways do you wear it? Did you find this post helpful? Lemme know...

Hair-y News

Flipping through the US Weekly magazine I find this little blurp about hair accessories - First off it is $38 dollars.... $38 DOLLLARS ya'll!!! Secondly, I am loving the "Hair Flair" makes me feel like I am an original lol! The article is on Easy Updates and 7 Spring Trends to Try is perfect and is SO TRUE. Hair accessories are one of the easiest ways to update your wardrobe and can add a whole lot of personality to your look. It is always cool to have an original handmade piece whether it be a ring, shoe clips, brooch, hair accessory, headband, necklace etc. I love this cute little article even if it is way over priced and they used my saying.

Also for a double dose of Hair-y News I have the new People Style Watch where it features all different kinds of hair accessories and fun little new ones to try! These are too cute to not try :)

I hope you all have a great weekend! UPDATE on GIVEAWAY: I am thinking one of my clutches... What'd ya think about that? What would you gals like to see for a giveaway from Fl(h)air Accessories?
