I am working on rustic desserts for an upcoming wedding and I wanted a cute dessert for people to much on that was home-y and very country-esque.
And then it hit me... Mini Cherry Pies
Here's what you need to make yours:
Ingredients:
Pillsbury Pie Crust
1 small can of cherry pie filling
Pam cooking spray
Cookie sheet
Foil
Fork
Spoon
Circular cookie cutter
Directions:
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Line foil on cookie sheet and lightly coat with Pam spray. On a clean surface roll out your pie crust. Take your cookie cutter and cut rounds. Lay them on the foil with about an inch between each.
Open your can of cherry pie filling and make small scoops of filling in the center for each little pie. Take the second sheet and do as you did before with the circles and lay them over the mini pesos the filling is sealed in.
Take your fork and press it on the sides to look like a pie then take the tips of the fork and make holes on the top.
Place them in the oven until flaky and lightly browned. Let cool and serve with mini scoops of vanilla bean ice cream!
Yummy!

Sentimental wine and girl talk...
Today was a day for girl time, full of conversations from all over the US. I am so incredibly lucky to have supportive friends to encourage, empower, support and laugh with. Some of the talks were fun and exciting and others today were quite heavy and needed to be shared over a single glass of wonderful white wine and a few hugs. All in all, I am amazed with how us women can help each other in times of need. Sisterhood is an amazing thing, if you don't have a great support group, I suggest going out and finding one. They are quite marvelous!
Help one another, is part of the religion of sisterhood.

I also found this photo below over on someecards and snapped a photo of outside while we girl talked away...

Easy Chicken Taco Salad
Summertime at its best deserves its awards for best salads. It's too hit to cook in the kitchen (104 degrees outside) so here's our favorite little recipe that will sure to satisfy and keep you cool in the kitchen.
Ingredients:
Safeways roasted whole chicken
Romaine lettuce
Enchilada sauce
Taco seasoning
Black beans canned
Guacamole
Salsa
Shredded cheese
Fritos chips (low salt)
Directions:
In a medium sized bowl remove meat from the bird. Place meat in bowl and add taco seasoning and enchilada sauce and let sit covered in the fridge.
Grab a large plate and prepare your romaine lettuce fill the bottom of the plate with lettuce. Take out your chicken when ready to plate your meal.
Take your beans and place them in a nice appealing line (I did mine diagonally) then a row of chicken taco mix, cheese, Fritos, salsa and guacamole.
The salsa acts as a dressing so you can keep this a lower calorie dinner or you can opt for a dressing of your choice.
**Bonus**
Keep those leftovers for the following dishes later in the week - chicken tacos, chicken enchiladas, chicken and cheese quesadilla, add into soup to make a yummy protein addition (no sir in this heat but for anytime other than this week).
I usually make sure to use organic when I can as well as low sodium for all the spices.
What do you all think?! What do you make for taco salads?

Curry Club
Those who have been following know that I love to cook and entertain! I was so happy to join a Curry Club here in Walla Walla where we fun couples can meet up and share drinks, appetizers, curry dish of sorts and dessert! Every Tuesday we are on rotation for sharing recipes. So much fun to do this! I never knew curry can be so versatile. Sometimes it is a traditional curry and other times it is a crazy recipe that we just made up.
It made my day to surround myself with good people tonight even if the Mr. was out of town in another conference.
My recipe for curry club this week is:
Not Yo Momma's (Curry) Casserole
Ingredients: feeds four
4 cups Steamed rice placed in bowls
I package frozen chopped broccoli
2 cans of cream of chicken
3 boiled Chicken breasts pulled
1 tbsp yellow curry
1/2 cup veganaisse
Breadcrumbs for topping
Mix together chicken, cream of chicken, veganaisse, curry and broccoli. Place ingredients in large glass dish. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the
mixture. I bake until bubbly (about 20 min). Serve hot over rice and enjoy! Makes excellent leftovers for a while too!
These are some photos from past curry club nights. I will make sure to share more! Do you make curry dishes?! We would love to share recipes!!

Bring your family to a winery wedding weekend
Just in case you didnt know it was that weekend... My family came into town this weekend and we had a great time! We stated up late watching the Olympics, went to our favorite breakfast spot Bacon and Eggs and then walked around Walla. The afternoon we all met up in Tri-Cities at Terra Blanca Winery for our friends wedding! This was probably one of my favorite weddings so far because we had our closest family friends there who just happen to be the patents to my best friend. Here are some photos from our picture booth and more. Hope you all had an awesome weekend!

New Wired Headband Scarf
With the whole throwback Thursday deal today I am introducing a new headband to add to your Fl(h)air family! When I was young my mom had a striped one of these wired headband scarves and would use it to hold her hair back as she would get ready for bed. I thought I would make it a little wider to make it look more like a turban. Once I got it finished I threw it on and started playing with it. Turns out its more versatile than I thought! I'm in love <3 I have it in leopard, lavender and mint! I will be posting colors soon but wanted to give you a sneak peek :)

Throwback Thursday
It's hard to think of myself being so young but I thought this would be fun to share some throwback Thursday pictures of me back in the days of big hair and shoulder pads. My little sister was just a thought in my parents mind but you can see an adorable photo of my little brother Kyle (downs kids are so darn cute!) love them lots! I especially love the fake library background! Do you all have photos like this as well? <3
