Art Inspiration with Puffy Paint!

We needed art in our house. We just got a king size bed and had to get new furniture which left little money to spend on fixings for our bare walls.

Solution! I ran over to our local craft store and art supply store and bought Puffy Paint and a large canvas. A little inspiration from Pinterest and away I went!

Who knew Puffy Paint could make such a pretty piece and just what we needed! I'm letting it dry and will post what it looks like in our room hopefully soon. Bonus... The BF liked it :) double points!

Making boots even more cute....

Just as I am getting ready for the spring collection we get an ice storm! I was pretty bummed BUT that made an excuse to go play in the LadyCave aka Fl(h)air Accessories Studio! Not that I don't absolutely LOVE my Steve Madden "Frannk" boots, I'll admit these are the best but I needed a little more.

I decided to make these all by myself! I just posted them on Facebook if you need a pair too. What a fun way to sprouse up your regular look with these cute Legwarmers! I know 80's are calling right? It is a new take on an old classic. Love. I hope you do too!!

Yummy Recipes to Try: Chicken Enchilada Soup

So work was cancelled today on account of an "Snow/Ice Storm" which we appropriately called "Snowpocalypse 2012". Here at the Blurkels house we have decided when life gives you snow, have a snow party! And that is just what we did.

Our Fabulous Five met over at our house for crappy ski movies, coors original that we sat in the snow outside and made some yummilicious Chicken Enchilada Soup. Too good not to share with my friends.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp Veggie Oil
1 lb. Chicken Breast
1/2 c. Diced Onions
1 Clove Garlic
4 c. Chicken Stock
1 c. Maza (Corn Flour)
3 c. Water
1 c. Enchilada Sauce
16oz. Velvetta
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Chili Powder
1/2 tsp. Cumin

Garnish with Pico de Gallo, Tortilla Strips and/or Shredded Cheese.

Directions:

In a medium pan add oil and slice chicken breast thin and place in pan. Cook each side for 4 minutes each. Set aside on a plate.

In the same pan fry up the diced onions and garlic for 2 minutes. While that is frying mix the three cups of water with the maza flour in a separate bowl until dissolved. Set the bowl aside. Grab a large pot to place the onions and garlic, as well as the water and maze mixture and heat on low.

Add in the rest of the ingredients. Stirring occasionally. Take the pan chicken and cut into little pieces and add to the pot.

Place into bowls and add your garnish. At the Chateaux Blumel we like out with tortilla chips, jalapenos and Pico.

If you have any questions regarding this recipe or anything else please feel free to contact me. I would love to help :)

Have a wonderful Thursday and I will talk to you all soon!

Yummy Recipes to Try: Brothers Tacos

My wonderful friend Jackie came over and shared this recipe with all at the Blumel House. The boys LOVED them. Now they are not low in calories BUT they are so yummy and can even be eaten cold.

Ingredients:
Corn Tortillas
Chicken Breast (diced)
Taco Seasoning
Green Chilies (larger can)
Mexican Style Cheese
Canola Oil

Other Ingredients (optional)
Guacamole
Salsa
Sour Cream
Lettuce
Diced Tomatoes

Directions:
Dice Chicken Breast. Place in pan with a little olive oil. Sprinkle with taco seasoning. Add in green chilies and cook out most of the liquid. Remove from heat in a separate container.

Heat up oil in separate pan. Microwave corn tortillas to make soft. Scoop a small amount of chicken and chilies. Sprinkle with mexican cheese and fold over and place in oil. Fry both sides until golden and remove, placing them on a paper towel. Towel dry. Repeat until all tacos are made.

Once finished I open them up and place lettuce, salsa, guacamole and sour cream on the top and serve.

You're welcome ;) Jk but you seriously are going to love these! And feel free to share and make your own style.

Happy Monday everyone!!!

Yummy Treats: Bacon and Eggs, Walla Walla

My boyfriend and I have found the MOST wonderful little breakfast restaurant here in Walla Walla, Wa. It is called Bacon & Eggs. Wow - instant happiness -  walking in early Saturday morning after our little walk from our house to Main Street. The place was bright, sunny, sounds of cheery conversation and an overwhelming scent of fresh coffee and french toast.

The menu is full of everything you can think of for yummy breakfasts. Brunch items too! Shrimp and white cheddar grits, Brioche citrus infused french toast with your choice of amazing-ness bacon and peanut butter stuffin', Migas and Crab Cake Eggs Benedict and a whole wall full of hot sauce choices for you to enjoy! Yee-haw!

They serve the most wonderful coffee Stumptown - YUM-diddily-umpshious! And for all of you who love some boozes there are bellinis and other delicious coctails to indulge in without feeling like it needs to be 5 o' clock somewhere *giggles*

I tried their crab cakes benedict which was AMAZING, I also had the shrimp and grits which I highly reccommend and the Texas Breakfast pictured below. So many options to choose from, this will be a LONG TIME favorite of AJ and mine. As well as the locals and lucky guests.

Yummy pepper cornbread, cumin flavored black beans, fresh pico de gallo, shredded cheese and fried eggs on a bed of brown rice - Fabulous!

show 'em some love on the facebeezy here

Hope your weekend was fantastic-O too :)
